How to become a member: You join the Cruising club for a membership fee (see prospectus below) which entitles you to three years of membership benefits. These benefits include free, repeatable training up to and including Coastal Skipper, crew places on cruises just for a share of the cost of food and fuel etc, and access to the club sail boats for local practice during your membership. Charter fees are not charged to members. This considerably reduces the cost of longer cruising trips. At the end of the three year membership, there is an opportunity to take up a two year extension with similar benefits, which includes training to the advanced level of Yachtmaster Offshore. Instructor training and certification is also an option for those members who have a passion and ability for teaching. There is a modest additional cost to members for this certification.

Two year extension to "advanced' status
Members can take up a 2 year extension option at the end of their  3 year term, after succesful completion of training to Coastal Skipper standard. This option includes a Yachtmaster Offshore training course.
